| A 43 years young female patient from Germany with status after ruptured appendix, followed by two bowel obstructions 10 and 11 years later, operated on by longitudinal laparotomy.Seven years later she became a hernia where a mesh was inserted. After that surgery, she has an emergency surgery because of hemorrhage in which there was a bowel lesion with peritonitis.Since than her symptoms were bloating, diarrhea, chronic severe pain.In this case we have performed the initial surgery with adhesiolysis and because of a superficial bowel lesion we first instillated Adept as adhesions barrier, three days later we performed another laparoscopy and applied SprayShield. Another 3 days later a final laparoscopy followed, which showed adhesions free surgical field with no adhesions reformation. |
